Tri-State Historical Research & Recovery Association
Formally the Buckeye Treasure Nuts and the Tri-State Treasure Hunters, the Tri-State Historical Research & Recovery Association was founded in 1977.  Over the past 33 years it has endured many changes but one thing has remained constant, a passion for history.  Located in Cincinnati, we have members from all over the Tri-State including Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.  Sometimes referred to as "treasure hunters", we enjoy everything from metal detecting, privy digging, searching for arrow heads, and even dump digging.  You name it, we love to dig it!

Research is a big part of our hobby.  Some of the best places to detect are found by using the internet, the library, looking over old maps and newspapers, and even talking to the old timers.  Many cities and towns have changed dramatically in the past 100 + years, some are no longer existent.  Through research we are able to locate the places that offer the best opportunity to dig old coins and relics.

We use highly sensitive electronic metal detectors to locate metallic objects in the ground and then pinpoint their exact location.  We then remove the object with very little obstruction to the lawn and leave almost no trace of anything being removed at all!  We also do our part and remove all trash that we may find so that others can enjoy the great outdoors for years to come.

So if you're new to the hobby or a seasoned veteran, come see what we're all about.  You can exchange information with other members, show off your finds.  We periodically have guest speakers and presentations.  Once a year we get our families together and have a club hunt and picnic where the money raised throughout the year is used to buy silver coins and prizes for tokens.    It's fun for the entire family!  But most of all, there's fellowship.  A group of people getting together to share in this great hobby.  Please see our Contacts page for more information.
